What brought you to Glispa?
I was one of the founders of MOBILS, which was acquired by Glispa in May 2016. After working together with Glispa for some time, we saw the acquisition as a great opportunity to join their diverse and competent team, and establish our mobile marketing solutions more successfully in Brazil’s burgeoning mobile commerce market.
Tell us a bit about your responsibilities.
My responsibilities as Associate Director of Business Development include searching for new prospects and communicating Glispa’s unique mobile marketing tools. The core focus within my role is to expand our presence in the Latin American (Latam) market. We are already one of the biggest mobile networks for user acquisition in Brazil, but we continue to push boundaries.
What do you like best about working at Glispa?
What makes the company stand out is its youthful spirit and multicultural environment. It broadens your perspective and you learn a lot about other cultures and markets with regard to different client perspectives and priorities and how to approach these differences. In the end, it’s great for professional and personal growth.
Tell us about a significant achievement at Glispa you are especially proud of.
Since my colleagues and I began MOBILS in Brazil, we have never been as well-positioned in the market as we are now after joining Glispa. We have been surpassing our goals month after month in the Brazilian market, which is our primary focus in Latam. I’m proud to see how our accounts have grown and we are consistently delivering great results for our clients.
What’s your personal highlight on a normal day at Glispa?
The Latam market is still in the process of becoming more mobile-oriented, so my responsibility, along with my team, is to communicate the vast possibilities that user acquisition and monetization can bring to companies with an app. My highlight every day is when I arrive at the office, open my e-mail, Skype, and map out the path to achieving this goal.
What makes someone the right fit for the Sales team?
This person has to have a lot of energy, good humor, optimism, persistence and they need to know how to persevere when it seems as if things aren’t going as expected. In sales, you are always faced with push-back and (at times) failure. It takes a strategic, positive person to recognize it is not always clear why things go wrong, but there is success in finding a way to resolve it and then grow from each experience. At the end of the day, your work ethic is the most valuable contributor to your success and it will show.
Finally, what’s your weekend tip for São Paulo?
São Paulo is the kind of city that has all types of options for everyone to enjoy an amazing weekend. I’d recommend visitors go to our biggest park, Ibirapuera, to indulge in its beautiful nature. Another option is to visit some of our museums and popular streets to see just how big the city is and how it works and flows—it’s quite impressive. Next, I’d suggest visitors eat our pizza. We are the second city in the world that consumes the most pizza, only behind New York. Also, get to know the people of São Paulo; we love "gringos" (or non-Brazilians)! Finish the night in a nightclub and party until the sun rises.
